The Strange Case of Finley Jayne by Kady CrossMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
I loved Kady Cross's book Girl in the Steel Corset and this book was a welcome addition. In this novella, we meet Finley before she meets the Griffin King. After an unfortunate altercation with a governess, Finley accepts a position as a companion to Lady Phoebe, a young woman engaged to a much older Earl. Phoebe's mother isn't convinced that the match is in her daughter's best interest, and soon Finley is on the trail to find out what diabolical secrets the Earl is hiding.
This story had everything I loved from the novel, a strong, smart heroine, lots of non-stop action, and a wonderful sense of humor.
Overall, I would recommend this to anyone who enjoyed the book, and anyone who is considering reading the book. I loved the references to Frankenstein and the whole steampunk motif. This is a fabulous novella, and I absolutely can't wait for the next installment in this thrilling series.
